Update on Honey Bee Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD)

News from the 110th general meeting of The American Society for Microbiology. Scientists from the US Department of Agriculture say the pathogens to blame for the disapearance of entire bee colonies over the last few years ( some up to 90%), is a fungus and most likely a family of RNA viruses. Scientists believe the infection is spread though pollen as the bees travel from flower to flower.
