Paleohistology Symposium

The first international symposium on Paleohistology was held in Barcelona, Spain on July 18th-20th at the Institut CatalĂ  de Paleontologia. The first meeting was a rousing success, as paleontologists and hard tissue scientists from around the world, presented their research and shared ideas on the current and future state of Paleohistology. Hopefully this will be the first of many annual meetings to come. Please check out the link below for more information.

Update on Honey Bee Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD)

News from the 110th general meeting of The American Society for Microbiology. Scientists from the US Department of Agriculture say the pathogens to blame for the disapearance of entire bee colonies over the last few years ( some up to 90%), is a fungus and most likely a family of RNA viruses. Scientists believe the infection is spread though pollen as the bees travel from flower to flower.
